He sets up a practice and appears on TV, becoming famous and known as “the Prophet.” Daniel begins to grow rich, important, and cold.

Colonel Epaminondas is a retrograde and authoritarian man, who commands and dismantles the region. He declares war on Pedro Galvão, his main rival, when he donates part of his land – purchased from the colonel – for the construction of a church and a school. The arrival of professor Juliana, right at the beginning of the plot, changes the lives of the residents of the small village. Juliana takes over the school and ends up arousing the interest of Fernando, Epaminondas' son. Oblivious to the fights that drive the story are Pituca (Patrí and Serelepe (Aires Pinto). The friendship between the two children, however, does not please the colonel, who is always fighting with his daughter. The story's theme is spiritualism, viewed through the lens of past-life regression. Floriano Ferraz is a skeptical sculptor tormented by severe shoulder pain and visions of a woman dying at his feet. After suffering a sword blow, she loses her balance and falls from the third floor of a mansion, at Belmiro's feet. Before dying, however, Valentina arranges a meeting with the lieutenant in the future. The experience completely transforms Floriano's life, and he decides to abandon everything, including his girlfriend Antônia, to pursue his past.

The former expert in fireworks, José Clementino gets a job as a bricklayer in the construction of a magnificent shopping center, one of the many works carried out by the construction engineer, César Toledo. During the feast of the ridge, where engineers and workers gather to celebrate the laying of the slab work, Clementino's wife flirts with several men. At one point, when he gives for the missing woman, Mason goes looking for her and is in a far corner of the building having sex with two men. Overcome with rage, Clementino kills his wife and one of the men paddle strokes. The family hears the screams and Toledo contains Clementino, with the help of a group of workers. Shocked by the violence of the employee, the employer called the police, and even later, an indictment against him at trial. His testimony is crucial to the conviction of Clementino, to discover their terrible crimes and audacious, which is a court suspicious.
