All, Films, Shows

New

Your watched tab now opens on All, with your films and shows side by side in one grid, sorted together. Films and Shows are still a tap away.
Lists open on All too, with films and shows mixed in one grid, one trailer reel and one constellation.
Lists can now hold just part of a show. Wherever you add a show to a list, tick "Only part of the show" and choose a range, or pick any episodes you like and each becomes its own entry. The same show can appear in a list more than once, so a chronological viewing order finally works.
On a list, a show's "..." menu has "set episodes" to turn it into part of the show, change the range, or go back to the whole thing.
Those entries show the episodes themselves: a single episode's card is its still and name, and a run of episodes slowly cycles through its stills.
Pro now comes as a yearly plan too: $39.99 a year, which works out to $3.33 a month, four months free compared with paying monthly. Pick monthly or yearly in Settings.
Subscribers see both plans on the Pro card too, with theirs marked. Pick the other one and a "switch" button takes you straight to the change.

Improved

Reordering a list now arranges films and shows together in one sequence.
The Pro card in Settings now lists both prices, $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr, while you're choosing, and once you subscribe it shows the plan you're actually on.
"Edit episodes" on a list card now offers everything add-to-list does: the whole show, a range, or hand-picked episodes. Picking several turns the entry into the first pick and adds the rest as their own entries.

Fixed

Choosing "edit episodes" on a list card no longer crashes the page once the show's seasons load.

Trailer theater

New

Trailer reels have a theater. Tap "theater" under any reel to take over the whole screen; tap "exit" or press Escape to come back.

Improved

Trailer reels are laid out as a simple stack now: the trailer, a strip of posters to jump between titles, and the title's details and actions underneath. Nothing covers the video any more, and you swipe sideways instead of up and down.
The sound button on trailers is now a proper toggle that remembers your choice.

Save that look

Improved

A profile's cursor trail, pointer and sounds now follow you onto its full-screen constellation.

Fixed

Switching from the constellation back to the poster grid no longer makes the header stutter. The grid reveals your films in batches as you scroll instead of drawing every card at once.
The customize panel's saved looks section now has a clear "save current look" button under the line, so you can keep what's on the page without hunting for a tile that some themes made nearly invisible.

Read my mind now learns from every game. When it loses, tell it what you were thinking of and it remembers for next time, so the titles people actually pick get guessed faster.

The find-something-to-watch wizard stacks its choices one per line on phones, and Read my mind shows a lock instead of a Pro label when your plan doesn't include it.
Read my mind is sharper and quicker: it opens with a few fixed warm-up questions, keeps its own running notes between turns, and checks its hunches against a list of real titles before it guesses.

Fixed

Your app-wide cursor trail, pointer and font no longer follow you onto other people's profiles and lists. Their page now shows exactly what they chose, even when that's nothing, and yours picks back up the moment you leave.
Wallpaper swatches in the customize panel now show their pattern on every theme. On darker and softer themes they used to look like empty boxes.
Profile sections open every time you visit. Collapsing All Films, All Shows or On Hold & Dropped used to stick on that device, which could make a profile look empty. Only the Tucked Away shelf remembers being closed.
Sharing a link now shows a proper Flickfolio preview card everywhere: films and shows get their poster with the year, genres and rating, profiles and watchlists get their own card, and every other page shows a branded one. No more stray TMDB logo in the embed.

Read my mind, for Pro: think of any movie or show, answer yes or no, and the finder tries to guess it in 20 questions or fewer. It shows you the poster when it's ready to commit, and if it's wrong three times, you win. It's the third door in the finder, next to Pick by genre and Help me pick, which stay free for everyone.

Polls, help me pick, volume and a warmer glow

New

Help me pick: not sure what to watch? The finder on the home page, the Browse page and in Search's wizard now asks whether you want a movie or a show, then offers a second mode that asks about you instead of the catalog. How much time you have, what mood you're in, old or new, a safe bet or a hidden gem, and who's in the room. Answer in a few taps and you get five real titles on the spot, a shuffle for "not quite", and one tap to open the full list.
Polls on shared lists: can't agree on what to watch? Open the list's menu, tap "Start a poll", tick the titles in the running and post a question. You and the list's collaborators vote from a card at the top of the list, tallies update live, and closing the poll pins the winner as up next. Votes are anonymous, and only the list's owner and collaborators can see or take part.
Collaborators get a notification when a poll opens and when one closes with a winner.
Volume controls for page sounds: under Settings → appearance, set how loud click sounds and typing sounds play for you, or mute either one on its own. It's your device's setting, so it applies on every profile and list you visit without changing anyone's page.

Improved

The flashlight that follows your mouse over cards now glows in your theme's highlight color instead of plain white, on filter panels, posters and the new poll card alike.

Fixed

The card flashlight no longer jumps to the wrong spot after a filter section opens or closes. It used to keep lighting cards where they had been before the layout moved.

Saved looks

New

Saved looks: keep your whole customize setup under a name — theme, spotlights, display case, header effects, critters, background effect, wallpaper, font, cursor, sounds and poster filter — and reapply it on any of your pages with one tap. Build a look on your profile, then give your lists the same one. Each look remembers where it came from, but works everywhere; on the app-wide panel it applies the parts the app has.

Saved looks sit in their own grid, styled like the theme cards with a strip of each look's colors. Tap "new look" to save what's on the page, and "edit looks" to rename one, update it with your current settings, or delete it. Free accounts keep 5 looks; Pro keeps 30.

Display cases

New

Your profile picture and your list covers now come mounted in a 3D display case of your choosing: a CD case, a coin, a 3.5-inch floppy disk, a handheld game cartridge or a VHS tape. Each one carries your art on its label, spins and flips like the others, and prints your name and stats on the back.
Case colors: give the case its own two colors, separate from your spotlight beams, so the shell and rim can be anything you like. Leave them unset and the case keeps following your spotlights.
Find it all under "display case" at the top of the customize panel on your profile and on any list you own, right after the theme picker. Lists follow your profile's pick until you choose one for them.
Four more display cases: a Polaroid with your name handwritten underneath, a chunky CRT television with your picture on the screen, a cassette tape, and a vinyl sleeve with the record peeking out. Every one spins, wears your case colors and prints your stats on the back.
Tuck a film or show away: open a poster's "..." menu on your watched or watching tab and pick "tuck away". It leaves the main grid for a collapsed "tucked away" shelf underneath, which anyone can open — it's off display, not a secret — and it still counts toward your totals, stats and trophies. It also stays out of the activity feeds and your constellation. The same menu puts it back.
The photo booth now has a case strip: switch the 3D model to any of the display cases for that photo or spin video without touching your saved pick — every case is open to try in the booth.
Surprise me: a shuffle at the top of the customize panel rolls a whole new look for your profile, list or app in one tap — theme, display case, colors, header effects, critters, background effect, wallpaper, font and cursor — drawing only from what your plan can save. It previews first; save if you like it, or shuffle again.
Photo booth for profiles and lists: the "..." menu on any profile or list now opens a photo booth where you pose its 3D case, pick a background and a size, and take a photo or record a full spin — in whichever shell and colors it wears.
A little secret: swirl your mouse in circles over a profile or list header and the floating posters, shapes and critters start orbiting the way you're circling — faster the faster you go, drifting free again when you stop.

Improved

The CD case and coin are free for everyone. The other seven cases are Pro exclusives — try them on for a look, and go Pro to keep one.
Your bio, or a list's description, is now printed on every case that has room for it — handwritten on the VHS and cassette labels, typeset on the backs of the cartridge, Polaroid, CRT and vinyl sleeve — the way the CD case carries a synopsis.
Case colors are now exact: every shell wears your first color as picked, with no grey, black or beige mixed in, and the rim or accent wears the second.
Every section on the watched and watching tabs now folds from its own divider: tap the "All Films" line above the grid to tuck the whole grid away and reach the shelves beneath, and tap a shelf's divider to open or close it. Each divider carries its subtitle, and every fold remembers your choice.
Watched shows now have the same "..." menu as films: share with mutuals, share the link, and choose a poster.
In the reviews window on film, show and activity pages, the review you jumped to no longer sits in a differently shaded box — it still scrolls into view and opens for you, on the same background as the rest.
On film and show pages, "create poster image" and "create poster video" are now one entry, "photo booth", with photo and spin-video tabs inside. Same feature, clearer name.

Fixed

Animated GIF pictures keep playing inside the photo booth instead of freezing after a few seconds.
On phones, a page's wallpaper and background effects now run all the way down to the footer instead of stopping above a blank strip.
The corner dial no longer lets a tap slip through to a poster behind it on phones. Tapping outside the open dial just closes it, and tapping where an option is about to land selects that option, even mid-animation.

Softer edges between pages

New

Typing sounds: pick a sound for your profile or a list and visitors hear it on every key they type there — a typewriter clack, a soft blip, whatever you like. Every key varies a touch in pitch and loudness, with Space and Enter landing heavier, so one sound never feels mechanical. Sits right under click sounds in the customize panel.

The theme step of setup now mentions that wallpapers, background effects and more are one tap away in the bottom-right corner.
Trying out sounds is easier: tap a sound to hear it instantly, use the new try-it button, and type in the little box under typing sounds to feel it before you save.
The corner dial now keeps one steady icon instead of cycling through its actions, so it no longer changes face as you move between pages. A one-time tip points out page customization the first time it is available to you.
Action buttons on profile and list pages are easier to hit on phones — a slightly off tap still counts.
Movies and shows without poster art now get a cleaner stand-in: a soft themed card with a small icon and the title. The film-strip dots are gone.
Moving between pages with different looks now cross-fades: a profile's or list's colour theme eases in and out instead of snapping, and its wallpaper fades in with it.
The little dial in the corner got a proper feel: it squashes when you press it, its icon twists into an X, each action arrives with its name, and the page dims behind it the same way it does for any dialog. It also settles down after a few seconds instead of cycling its icons forever, and gives a gentle buzz on phones that support it.

Fixed

The one-time tip pointing out the corner dial now waits until the setup wizard (or any open dialog) is out of the way, instead of firing unseen behind it. New members actually get shown where customization lives.
A profile or list set to Silent now stays silent for click and typing sounds, even when you have an app-wide sound picked. Your app-wide sounds still play everywhere else.
Switching to the constellation view and back no longer leaves the page heavier each time - the floating posters in the header stay smooth.
The page-loading bar now starts the moment you tap a link, instead of flashing after the page has already changed — you'll actually see it on your phone now.
On iPhone and iPad, the little burst when you tap now lands exactly under your finger — it used to drift after zooming in, focusing a text field, or when the toolbar tucked away.
A list's theme now reaches the whole page — the header and footer used to stay in your app colours while only the list itself changed, which also meant lists never got the new cross-fade.
Opening or reloading a themed profile or list no longer shows the page in its colours while the navigation bar catches up a moment later — they now change together.
On a list page, tapping a link to somewhere else could quietly do nothing until you used the back button. Lists were re-syncing their web address in a tight loop behind the scenes; that's stopped, and navigation away from a list works like everywhere else.
On phones, tapping a button near the top of a profile or list — back, more, like, settings — could grab a floating poster drifting behind it instead of pressing the button. Buttons win now, whatever is floating underneath.

Make the whole app yours

New

Your look now follows you everywhere: a font, wallpaper, background effect, cursor trail and click sound of your own, on every page — all previewing live as you pick them.
One dial in the bottom-right corner holds everything you reach for: customizing, help, and the find-something-to-watch wizard. Tap and they bubble out of it; tap again and they're swallowed back in.
Open the customize panel on someone else's profile or list to see exactly how they styled it — every option is shown, just locked, so you can borrow ideas without changing a thing.

Help is on every page now, and it walks you through what's actually on the screen in front of you.
Leave the customize panel open while you browse and it follows you: land on a profile or a list and it switches to that page's own settings.
Activity graphs now take their colours from your theme instead of plain grey, with a wider range from quiet days to busy ones — and they recolour the moment you preview a new theme.
Search bars, tab rows, cards and buttons now share one consistent tint on every page — including the search page's tabs and the user cards, which had drifted.
The whole app lets your look through: search bars, filter panels, tab rows, action buttons and the cards holding everything — your stats, reviews and lists, the home and about pages, the help and legal pages — are see-through now, so your wallpaper and background effects carry on behind them instead of stopping at a grey box. Light themes too, where they used to stay solid.
Customizing always names what it will change — your profile, this list, or the whole app — and all of it lives in that one panel, so Settings is down to your click-sound and hint switches.
Someone else's profile or list still looks the way they made it. Only your cursor trail and click sound follow you in, and only when they haven't chosen their own.
Movie, show and cast pages got the polish: poster tinting leads the theme options, your background effect drifts in front of the artwork, and the artwork melts away into your wallpaper instead of stopping on a hard line. Long "show more" sections fade the same way.
Phones and tablets join in — tap a page for its click sound and a little burst of sparkles, while scrolling stays quiet.

Your profile keeps its own look. Changing the app's theme from somewhere else — the lists page, say — no longer restyles your profile behind your back; give your profile a theme and that is the only thing that decides how it looks.

Easier picking

New

Six new wallpapers for your profile or list: polka dots, checks, waves, crosses, scallops, and confetti — eleven patterns in all, each tinting itself to match your page theme. Five of them now MOVE: stripes slide like a barber pole, confetti drifts down, waves roll sideways, the grid glides, and hearts beat. Animated wallpapers are a Pro perk.
Six new page fonts to dress your profile or list in: Poster for movie-billing shout, Geometric for clean title-card cool, Elegant for high-contrast glamour, Slab for something sturdy and bookish, Marker for felt-tip scrawl, and Engraved for the film-credit nameplate look. Fourteen typefaces in all — the eight originals stay free, and the six new display faces are Pro.
Seven more cursor trails to chase your mouse: snowflakes, music notes, falling code, drifting petals, water ripples spreading under your pointer, and a coloured-pencil scribble that sketches right on the page, wobble and all, and an after-image of ghost pointers straight out of Windows 95. Fourteen in all, in the customize panel — and the hearts trail got a glow-up, with glossy hearts in mixed sizes that float up and slow to a stop.

The theme picker now has a search bar and pages, so finding one among dozens takes a moment instead of a scroll. Trophies that can no longer be earned are also tucked away — if you already have one it still sits in your case.
Lanterns, Sparks, Space and Fireworks have moved to Pro alongside the other showpiece background effects — the twelve ambience effects stay free for everyone.
Try before you buy: every Pro theme, wallpaper, effect, critter, cursor and filter is now fully clickable on the free plan and previews live on your real page. Saving is the only thing Pro unlocks, and the panel tells you exactly which picks are holding it up.
Finding the right header effect or critter is quicker — both pickers now have a search bar, and big catalogs flip through tidy pages instead of one endless grid.
Header effects and header critters are going fully hand-made: both pickers now feature exclusive custom art released over time — free pieces listed first, alphabetically — with up to 3 of each on your header, and a randomize button that deals you a surprise set from what your plan includes.

Fixed

Leftover header art from an older version — stray stars or hearts drifting behind your profile — can finally be cleared: the reset button in header effects and critters now removes it for good, even when the section looks empty. Clearing one section also stops disturbing the others, and when you use several header effects at once they now share the header evenly instead of one crowding out the rest.
Freshly released wallpapers, effects, critters, and cursors now show up in the customize panel right away — no more refreshing and waiting for them to appear.

The font update

New

Cursor magic, straight from the Y2K web: give your profile or any list a mouse trail — stardust, rainbows, floating hearts, retro pixels, fairy dust, bubbles, a comet tail, or confetti — that chases every desktop visitor's cursor, with a little burst on every click. You can even swap the pointer itself for special cursor art as it arrives in the catalog. All in the customize panel.
Flickfolio has a whole new voice: the entire app now reads in Inter, a crisp modern typeface that looks pixel-identical on every device — Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android. The terminal-mono era is over (though mono lives on below).
Page fonts are here, and they're the star of the show: give your profile or any list its own typeface — serif, typewriter, pixel, comic, rounded, script, mono, or narrow — and the entire page wears it, header to footer, for every single visitor. Pixel is a genuine bundled arcade font. Peak 90s homepage energy, waiting in the customize panel.
Restyle your page right where you see it: a paintbrush on your profile and on your lists opens a customize panel where every theme, color, and effect previews live as you pick it. The panel docks beside your page — everything shifts over so nothing is covered — and you save when it looks right.
Wallpapers are here: tile a tiny pattern behind your whole profile or list, exactly like a classic 90s homepage. Patterns tint themselves to match your page theme, show at full strength, and include an animated twinkling-stars set — find them in the customize panel.
Custom creatures: brand-new critters can now join the header zoo — each one moves and mischief-makes exactly like the creature family it belongs to, animated GIFs and all. Watch the critters picker for new arrivals.

Header critters are now capped at 3 at a time, so your floating posters always have room to shine.
The header critter lineup got a curation pass — a few species retired so the keepers stand out.
Changing header effects no longer restarts the whole header. Deselect your butterflies and they flutter off the edge of the screen; pick something new and it flies, swims, or floats right in — floating shapes fade in and out, and switching background effects cross-fades gently instead of snapping.
Background effects found their place: they drift behind your page — above your wallpaper, beneath your posters, cards, and text — run the full height of the screen, and end right at the footer, so horizon scenes like Synthwave keep their best part in view. The footer slimmed down too, leaving more room for them to shine.
Five scenery backgrounds got a glow-up: Bamboo Grove now shows the tops of its stalks, the Lighthouse grew into a proper banded tower with a warm lamp glow, Mount Fuji rebuilt its snow cap and torii gate from scratch, and Desert Dunes and Meadow picked up richer suns, skies, and rolling depth.
Everything stays readable over any wallpaper: your name, stats, and bio sit on a tidy card in your profile header, list pages got the matching card, favorites, stats, and empty states picked up solid backgrounds, and the search bar and action buttons went fully opaque.
The floating posters in page headers now show at full strength instead of half-faded.
Cleaner pickers everywhere: your selected option wears the same neat corner badge as the weekly crown chips, locked options got quieter, and long option names no longer crowd their tiles.
Settings got simpler: appearance there is now just about your app — your theme everywhere, adaptive movie and show pages, and tips. Everything about how your pages look lives with the paintbrush on the pages themselves, and profiles and lists always appear the way their owners styled them.
We slimmed the catalogs down to the picks that earn their place: canvas finishes are retired, the shape and effect lists are tighter, and effect colors are a simple three swatches instead of a wall of pickers. Anything you already saved keeps working.
Trending now means it: nothing appears in the weekly boards — titles, lists, curators, or list of the week — off a single person’s activity.
Notifications moved out of your way: those little confirmation pop-ups now appear as a compact pill near the bottom of the screen instead of a banner across the top — no more covering the close button while you're logging a review.
Tidier phones: the filter chips that sat under search bars no longer take up space on mobile — your active filters still live in the filter panel.

Clearing decorations or a wallpaper on a list now sticks — before, an emptied list quietly went back to showing your profile's choices.

On iPhone, page art no longer cuts off abruptly under the status bar — posters, wallpapers, and effects now fade out smoothly at the top of the screen.

Tidier headings

Spoiler reviews got a nicer reveal — tap the shield and the review types itself out in a blink.
Trending is harder to game: liking or favoriting your own list no longer counts, and a review needs more than one upvote in a week to appear in trending.
List cards on phones are far simpler: title, a one-line byline (rank · curator · count) and a single row of posters — the description and the tag pills wait for the list page itself.
Section headings across Activity, Notifications, Lists, Browse and your profile now share one quiet style, with even spacing above and below.

Fixed

Tab rows that don’t fit a phone screen now scroll cleanly and slide the chosen tab into view instead of running off the edge.

Constellation, wall-to-wall

New

Trending this week on your Activity feed — the most-liked reviews and the most-watched films & shows from the last 7 days, right above the Community feed. The Following tab shows the same for the people you follow.
Release alerts for shows — tap the bell on any show page and pick a ping for every new episode, or one heads-up when the season finale airs so you can binge it complete. Alerts land in your notifications, with a push on the app.
New “Airing soon” filter on the show search — see what has an episode landing today, in the next 3 days, or this week. Daily talk and reality shows stay out of the way unless you ask for them.
Notifications now have filter chips — All, Others, Releases and You — in both the bell and the notifications page: Others is what other people did, Releases is your episode alerts, You is your own activity, so a busy week of episode pings never buries a comment from a friend. The page also groups everything by day.
The user search grew into a community hub — champions of the week crowned up top, a live pulse of what everyone's logging, and three weekly leaderboards: Top Movers (most logged), Top Reviewers (most upvotes earned) and Collectors (most trophies). Arrows show who climbed or slipped since last week, your own rank stays pinned so you know who's one spot ahead, and everything runs on a rolling week — any big weekend can put you on the podium. Finding a specific person is still one search away. A Your Week card in the sidebar keeps your own three ranks in the corner of your eye. Flip the Mutuals filter and the very same boards re-score over just your circle — community bragging rights and friend-group bragging rights, separately.
Watchlists got the same treatment — the community tab now opens on what's hot this week: trending lists ranked by fresh favorites, likes and new titles (with climb-and-slip arrows), the week's top curators, and a List of the Week crown. Your own cards show the love they earned this week, followed lists show how much they grew, and searching finally digs through every public list — not just the ones you've already scrolled past.
Creators get their flowers now — winning List of the Week earns a permanent laurel on your list and a spot in the community Hall of Fame, and you'll get a notification (with a push on the app) when your list takes the crown, earns its first love, or crosses a milestone like 10 or 25 loves.
The constellation now shows every film’s poster right away, so your whole collection reads at a glance — sweep your cursor across it and the ones nearby rise to meet you. Prefer the pure star field? A new button in the corner tucks the posters away.

Search results now open with a plain-English line that says exactly what you're looking at — “comedy films from the 2010s · highest rated first” — so you never have to decode a row of filter chips.
The weekly boards on Lists and on People search now sit in their own clearly framed section — tap the header to tuck them away or bring them back, and the app remembers your choice.
The constellation is sharper on phones — crisper stars, rings and labels — and the little posters beside the stars are finally a size you can actually see.
Posters near your cursor now load first in the constellation, so the one you’re looking at never waits behind the rest.
Scrolling the page no longer gets stuck on the constellation — it only zooms once you’ve clicked or dragged it, and hands scrolling back the moment your cursor leaves. Fullscreen zooms freely, as always.
The constellation tour now follows the shape of the view: best-rated films first in the orbit view, newest watches first on the timeline, and cluster by cluster in the genre view.
Posters now load in the same order the view reads: top-rated first in orbits, newest watches first on the timeline, cluster by cluster in genres — with whatever your cursor is near still jumping the queue.
The constellation now opens on a sweeping three-quarter view of your orbits instead of a flat head-on angle — closer in, with real depth from the first frame.

Leaderboards on phones no longer spill off the side of the screen — long list names trim neatly instead.
Closing the filters panel now fades it out gracefully instead of squeezing it off the screen, and the faint divider line no longer runs past the page content on tall screens.
The details bar under the constellation now keeps one steady height — longer descriptions scroll inside it instead of nudging the whole view around as you move between films.

Sweep your cursor across the constellation and the posters rise to meet it — biggest right under the pointer, tapering off with distance like a cloth lifted off the stars. Flying the camera in close still reveals them too.
Your constellation now opens as a solar system: you're the sun at the center, and every film orbits on the ring matching its rating — five-star favorites closest in. Switch any time to genre clusters or a timeline spiral of when you watched everything.
Go fullscreen in the constellation view for an edge-to-edge starfield — the back button or the X brings you home.
A genre legend now sits in the corner of the constellation — tap a genre to spotlight its stars and dim the rest, or tap a cluster's name to fly straight to it.
The constellation sky is livelier: stars twinkle, they sweep into place when the view opens, constellation lines draw themselves in with a traveling glimmer, and the occasional shooting star passes by.
You now sit at the center of every constellation layout as the sun — tap it to see the collection's vitals: how many films, how many rated, average rating, top genre, and total time watched, with a shortcut to the full stats page.
Your constellation now has its own page you can share — going fullscreen on your films takes you there, a share button puts the link on your clipboard (or opens your share sheet), and closing it drops you right back where you were.

Header critters, and invite friends for Pro

New

Your lists view now lives in the address bar. Pick a feed, a collection, a sort order or type a search, and the link updates to match — so you can bookmark it, share it, or reload without losing your place.
Critters now notice each other. Fish and koi keep company as a shoal, bees and bats move as a swarm, and cranes drift in loose formation — sticking together, parting around a poster and closing up again. Each one still has a mind of its own, so they wander off and rejoin rather than moving as one.
They'll swim along with your posters, too: a shoal will fall in beside one that's drifting past and travel with it for a while before peeling off.
UFOs and balloons pass posters to each other. When one has been carrying a poster a while it'll fly it over to a free partner and hand it off — one beam going out as the next comes on.
Critters play with your floating shapes as well. Cats send them flying, fish just nose them along, and popcorn bounces off everything.
Header critters! Your header can now have creatures in it — fish, jellyfish, butterflies, bees, popcorn and slimes to start, with UFOs, koi, sea turtles, balloons, cranes, bats, ghosts, cats and frogs for Pro members.
Critters don't just float past — they play with your posters. Jellyfish cling on for a ride, UFOs beam one skyward, fish part around them and close up behind, koi circle them, butterflies land on the edge, cats perch on top and swat the ones drifting by, and ghosts drift straight through.
Pick your critters under Settings → appearance → header critters, or per-list in a watchlist's appearance settings. Every creature's colour is yours to choose, and the preview shows exactly what they'll get up to.
Invite friends and you both get Pro. Anyone who joins with your link gets six months free; you get six months for your first friend and another month for every one after — no limit. Find your link under Settings → Invite friends.
Four new community trophies for bringing people in — from your first invite to a full-blown cult following.

The trophies window got a glow-up: sections with clean dividers, a search bar, and compact cards that show exactly how each badge is earned.

Fixed

A public Watch Later list now shows up in Community and Following like any other list, and counts towards the number on your profile's lists tab. If you've renamed and made yours public, it was being left out of both feeds — and off that count — even though the list itself was already on show.
A list you switch from private to public now turns up in Community straight away, at the top of the most-recently-updated lists. Some older lists could slip through the gap between pages and never appear at all, however far you scrolled.
Critters no longer flip back and forth on the spot when they slow down or round a turn — koi circling a poster were the worst of it.
Critters no longer get stuck along the bottom of the header pressing downwards. Frogs and slimes now settle above the edge instead of fighting it, cats stop creeping downwards forever, and nothing gets bounced off the floor any more.
Nothing parks itself in mid-air now either — a critter that stops getting anywhere gives up on whatever it was chasing and moves along.

Trophies! Earn badges for milestones — your first film, 100 films, finishing shows, and more. Find them next to followers on any profile.
After logging a show, a one-tap prompt can mark every aired episode as watched, so your episode progress matches.
The app now greets first-time visitors with a quick tour of what Flickfolio can do.
New accounts get a short setup right after signing up — pick your name, avatar, and color theme without hunting through Settings.
Pro can now be gifted. If the team comps your account, settings shows it as a gift with nothing to pay — and if you'd like to support Flickfolio anyway, the subscribe option is still right there.
Film and show pages now show the age rating — like PG-13 or TV-MA — right beside the country in the details section.

Your people, and a tighter circle

The people tab now opens with your people at the top — everyone you follow, sorted however you like — followed by the members catalog. Search still finds anyone by name or username.
Private accounts are marked with a lock wherever they turn up, so you can tell at a glance that you'll need to send a follow request. Everything else works as before — you can find them, see their counts, and ask to follow; what they've actually watched stays private until they accept.
Sharing and list invites now go to people you follow each other with. If you both follow, you'll see each other in the share sheet and the collaborator picker; if only one of you does, you won't.
We rewrote our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use in plain language — they now spell out exactly which services we work with, what each one sees, and your rights over your data.
Cookie choices now apply the moment you make them, and you can change your mind anytime with the new "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
Signing up now says up front that your username and display name are public, and points to the private-account option if you'd rather keep your activity to approved followers.

Fixed

A private account's lists are properly private now. Marking a list public no longer makes it readable to anyone with the link while your profile is private.
On Android, coming back from another app no longer sometimes leaves Flickfolio squished into the top half of the screen.
Community lists no longer show watchlists you can't open. A private member's lists stay between them and their approved followers — and if your account is private, the list settings now say exactly who can see a "public" list.

Each list picks its own vibe, too — give a horror list the glitch treatment while your profile stays golden. Your profile-wide look styles your profile page, and every list has its own filter in its appearance panel, starting from a clean slate.
Want the best of both worlds? Flip on the reveal toggle and your filter melts away when someone hovers a poster — or taps it on their phone — showing the real art underneath before it fades back.
Sharing your favorite films, shows, or episodes now opens a preview with picture-perfect sizes for wherever you post — a square Instagram post, a tall Story or TikTok, a wide X card, or the classic full grid. Pick a format, see exactly how it'll look, and share or download in one tap.
The same goes for your stats: every share button on the stats tab — your film and show overviews and every chart — now opens the format picker too, so your year in film is ready for your feed, your story, or wherever else you want to show it off.

Tapping a day on your activity chart now shows each film and show with the same poster you'd see on your watched tab — including any posters you've chosen yourself.

Still watching? You decide

New

Every show now has a status you control: watching, rewatching, finished, paused or dropped. Set it in the show's review window, right beside its episode progress, or straight from the posters on your profile. No more shows stuck in a tab they don't belong in — like the ones that technically never ended but you're long done with.
Going back to an old favorite? Mark it rewatching and it rejoins your watching tab while still counting as a show you've watched. Starting over never costs you credit for having finished it.
Shows you pause or drop step out of both tabs and onto their own shelf at the bottom of your watching tab — out of the way, but never lost, and one tap from picking them back up.
Two new charts on your stats page: how your shows split across watching, rewatching, finished, paused and dropped — and which ones you're closest to finishing, so you can see what's a couple of episodes from done.

Haven't set a status on something? Nothing changes. A show still finds its own tab from your episode progress until you say otherwise.
Progress bars on paused, dropped and rewatching shows are greyed out, so they read as a record of where you got to rather than something still ticking along.
The buttons on a show page finally say what they do: "Log episodes" jumps to the episode list, and "Review & status" opens the show's own review window.
Your stats count finished and in-progress shows exactly the way your profile tabs do, so the two finally agree.

Fixed

A show you'd caught up on could appear in your watching and watched tabs at the same time. It picks a side now.
In a narrow browser window on a computer, the buttons on posters — add to list, share, watch trailer — looked available but couldn't be clicked, and cards wouldn't open when clicked. Both work at any window size now.
Searching for a director or writer could turn up films they had nothing to do with — searching Hayao Miyazaki led with Avengers: Age of Ultron and Toy Story 3, because he's thanked in their credits. Being thanked no longer counts as making the film, so his search now opens with Spirited Away.
"More like this" on a show page suggested the same few popular shows no matter which show you were on. It now genuinely follows the creator — Breaking Bad points you to Better Call Saul.
Opening a menu or window while scrolled down a page no longer makes the filter sidebar vanish until you close it again.

Your posters, your profile

Pick your favorite poster for any movie or show — tap the new poster button on a title page to browse every alternate poster. Everyone can choose from the first two; Pro members unlock the whole catalog.
Your chosen posters show up across your profile for everyone who visits — the floating poster wall up top, plus your watched, watching, favorites, and reviews tabs.
Your picks follow you into search, too — results on the search page show the posters you chose.
The whole page dresses to match: movie and show pages tint themselves from the poster, so picking a new poster smoothly re-themes the page around it.
Watchlists wear their owner's posters too — every list displays the posters its creator picked, on the list page and on list cards everywhere.
Start a list's name with an emoji and it becomes that list's icon — on your list cards, in the add-to-list menu, and printed big on the 3D case at the top of the list.

Like and favorite a watchlist right from its own page — the same buttons you know from the watchlists browser now sit in the list's action bar.

Put your lists in your own order! Tap the new reorder button on any of your lists and drag posters into place — perfect for personal rankings. Everyone who opens the list sees it your way, with rank numbers on each poster.
Lists with a custom order open in that order by default, and the sort panel shows a new Custom Order option so you can always flip back to it after sorting another way.

Lists imported from Letterboxd now keep their exact Letterboxd order — your ranked lists arrive ranked, instead of shuffling into added-date order.

Fixed

Movie and show pages now show the real number of Flickfolio ratings next to the score — it could say "(0 reviews)" beside an actual score, and the rating breakdown chart only filled in for your own ratings.
Lists imported from Letterboxd no longer get a placeholder description — if your list didn't have one there, it stays clean here too. We've also tidied up previously imported lists.

Every browse page has an "In this list" panel — the years it spans, the best-reviewed pick, and which genres keep showing up.

Browse pages lead with the posters now, with the write-up and questions below, so you get to the films faster.
The links at the bottom of a browse page are far easier to scan — they no longer repeat the whole title on every single chip.
Browse links now say what they are — /browse/1930s-movies and /browse/1930s-shows instead of the old shorthand. Every old link still works.
Comment threads go four replies deep instead of two, so back-and-forth conversations stay together instead of flattening out.

Fixed

Private profiles are no longer listed for search engines. If your account is private, it stays out of the site map entirely.
Dropped the empty "TV Movie" category from browse — it never had a meaningful list behind it.
A GIF you post in a comment now shows up right away instead of only after reloading the page.

Reading reviews is instant now — tapping a review or its comments on the activity feed or a profile pops open the full conversation right there, complete with every review of that title, instead of loading the whole movie page first.
You can now edit your comments — a pencil on your own comments opens them right in place, everywhere comment threads live. Edited comments and reviews show a subtle "(edited)" note with when.
Share any review or comment straight from its "..." menu — send it to your followers in-app or copy a link; either way, whoever opens it lands right on the conversation, scrolled into place and highlighted. Reporting lives in the same menu now, on both reviews and comments, everywhere.

Movie pages moved to cleaner /film/ addresses. Every old /flick/ link — bookmarks, shares, search results — redirects automatically, so nothing breaks.
Review dates moved up next to the reviewer's name — "3d ago" for recent ones, just like comments — freeing the bottom row for likes, comments, and replies.
You can reply to your own comments now too — handy for adding a follow-up thought to a thread you started.

The add-to-list window opens with your checkmarks already in place — it starts preparing the moment your cursor reaches the button, and remembers what it learned for instant reopening. It also gained sort buttons (favorites, last edited, A–Z) and a smarter bottom button that says exactly what it'll do — "Add to 2 lists", "Remove from list", and so on.
Your comments now have a tidy "..." menu for editing and deleting — with a confirmation before anything is deleted. Save and cancel buttons in comment editors moved down beside the other actions, and replying to reviews now works in the season and episode windows too.

Fixed

Google sometimes showed the wrong movie's plot as a page's search result snippet — it was picking up the recommended titles listed on the page. Search engines are now told to describe each page by its own film or show.

Private accounts are now truly private — their watches, ratings, and reviews no longer appear in the community feed or on movie, show, and people pages. Accepted followers still see everything, including in their following feed.
The activity heatmaps now count everything you log: shows marked watched without episode tracking were being left out, and very busy years could undercount. Counts are now clearly labeled "films & shows".

Rapidly switching feeds and filters on the activity page could strand you on an endless spinner or mix results from the previous view — switches now land cleanly every time, and the same tune-up went into the profile's watched and watching tabs, list pages, and network pages.

Filter tag rows are now scrollable with a mouse — drag them sideways or roll the wheel over them. Before, cut-off tags on desktop were simply unreachable.

Six more header effects, and rings done right

New

A new way to style your page: canvas finishes. Give your background effect one of eleven retro treatments — pixelated, dithered, 1-bit noir, posterized, CRT scanlines, an LCD grid, halftone dots, film grain, a vignette, VHS ghosting, or glitch — right under the effect preview in your appearance settings, for your profile and your lists, with a slider to dial in exactly how strong it is.
Six new header effects: paw prints, suns, gems, music notes, bells, and tiny mushrooms — two dozen shapes to float through your profile and list headers.

Improved

Appearance settings are easier to scan: each section — theme, spotlight colors, header effects, background effects — now sits in its own card, so you can tell at a glance where one ends and the next begins. Your list's appearance panel and the quick theme picker got the same treatment, plus a proper heading for the list panel's theme grid.
When picking header effects, hovering a shape now previews it alongside the ones you've already chosen — so you see what adding it would actually look like — and your list's appearance panel now has the same live hover preview.
The randomize, reset, and clear buttons in appearance settings are now proper buttons — same style in every section, and much easier to tap on a phone. Spotlight colors picked up a randomize button, and lists can now clear their background effect with one tap too.
Filter tag rows — on search, lists, people and network pages, and your watched and watching tabs — now stay on one tidy line you can swipe through, with a soft fade at the edge whenever more tags are waiting off-screen.
Profile pictures in the activity feed now wear a thin ring in that person's own theme color — a little glimpse of everyone's style right in the feed.

Fixed

The clubs header effect actually looks like a club now — three proper leaves and a stem, instead of a green blob.
On Windows, opening any dialog nudged the whole page sideways a few pixels and nudged it back on close. The page now holds perfectly still — and picks up a sliver of extra width that was quietly reserved for a second, invisible scrollbar.
No more endless spinners on a shaky connection. The activity feed, search, lists, and profile pages now quietly retry when a request drops — and if the network is truly down they tell you, instead of spinning forever until you toggled something.
The 3D coin on a profile now counts every show you've logged — including ones you're still watching — so its shows number finally matches the one on your card in people search.
If someone gave their profile its own theme, the colored ring around their avatar — on people cards in search and in the little card that pops up when you hover a name — now matches that profile theme instead of their app theme.

Eight new header effects, and more of everything for free

New

Sixteen themes are now free — the first four rows of the theme picker, for your app, your profile, and your lists. Ex Machina, Taste of Tea, Casablanca, Kamikaze Girls, I'm a Cyborg, August in the Water and Chocolat have all come off the Pro shelf.
The first row of header effects is free too: hearts, stars, sparkles, squares, circles, and moons can float across your profile and list headers without Pro — and you can recolor them however you like.
Spotlight colors are now free for everyone. Pick the two colors that light up your profile header, the same way you already could on a list.
Eight new shapes to float through your profile and list headers: triangles, clouds, flames, bolts, ghosts, crowns, spades, and clubs — eighteen in all, and every one is yours to recolor.

Improved

Every section of your appearance settings now shares one look — centered headings and descriptions, from your theme all the way down to background effects — and each one tells you up front how many of its options are free.
Keeping your own theme when visiting other people now sits right under the profile theme setting, instead of at the very bottom of your appearance settings.
Picking header effects now works exactly like picking a background effect: the same tidy grid of tiles, and colors set from labeled chips under the preview instead of a picker squeezed into every tile. Your list's appearance panel gets the randomize and reset buttons too.
Two customization settings have clearer names: the floating shapes in your header are now called header effects, and the animated scenes behind your page are now background effects. Your choices are exactly as you left them — only the labels changed.

Fixed

Episodes with no ratings yet — an upcoming one, say — no longer leave an empty band under their title in a show's season list. The name and air date now sit neatly on the bottom edge.

Reviews, easier to write and read

New

You can now log a film, show, season, or episode as many times as you've seen it. Each watch is its own entry with its own date, rating, and review, so a rewatch can get a fresh take, and your whole history sits right there to edit or remove. Logging again is the same one tap every time — and it works identically everywhere now.
Reviews now have a proper formatting editor — like writing in a document. Use the toolbar (or select some text) to make it bold or italic, add a heading, a bulleted or numbered list, a quote, or strikethrough, and you'll see it styled right as you type. Your older reviews stay exactly as they were.
Your review is now saved as you write it. Get pulled away, or close the box by accident, and your rating and words are waiting for you the next time you open it.
A movie or show page now shows what the friends you follow actually wrote about it — read a snippet right in the details and tap through to the full review and its comments.
You can now mark a whole-show review as a spoiler, just like you already could for movies, episodes, and seasons.
The first 18 profile background effects are now free — snow, rain, confetti, hearts, sparkles and more — so you can decorate your profile without Pro.

Improved

The review box now has real room to write — it's wider and taller on larger screens, so a longer write-up doesn't feel cramped.
When logging a film or an episode, your rating and the date you watched now sit side by side instead of stacked — a little less scrolling to reach the review.
Long reviews now show a “Read more” link exactly when the text is actually cut off — no stray links on short reviews, and nothing quietly hidden on long ones.
The reviews box looks the same whether or not you're signed in — the same tabs and layout, so nothing jumps around when you log in.
On sign-up, if you try to create your account before confirming you're 16+ and accepting the terms, the page now scrolls up and highlights that checkbox instead of leaving the button quietly greyed out.
You can now preview any background effect before choosing, including the Pro ones — tap it and it keeps playing in the preview box so you can see what it looks like.

Spoiler-tagged reviews on TV show pages are now properly hidden until you choose to reveal them.
Saving a review no longer makes a movie or show page's colors flash for a moment.
Reordering your favorites no longer reloads the page mid-drag — your new order just sticks.

Tap a show's network to open a dedicated page of the most popular shows on that network — HBO, Netflix, AMC and more — with ratings and where to watch.

Background effect colors in your list's appearance settings now show every available swatch and include a reset button to get back to the original palette.
Six new background effects for your profile and lists: Projector Beam, Popcorn, Origami Cranes, Umbrellas, Movie Tickets, and Fire. Projector Beam replaces Speed Lines — if that was your pick, you've been switched over automatically.
Search now understands franchise questions — try "first godzilla movie", "3rd harry potter movie", or "latest mission impossible movie" and land straight on the exact film.
Seven new scenery effects: Mount Fuji (with a torii gate and drifting sakura), Desert Dunes with rolling tumbleweeds, a twinkling Night Skyline, a retro Synthwave horizon, Aurora over mountains, a Lighthouse sweeping its beam, and a swaying Bamboo Grove. The 3D Maze retired to make room — anyone using it now gets Mount Fuji.

Scenery background effects — Night Skyline, Mount Fuji, Desert Dunes, Synthwave, Aurora, Lighthouse, Bamboo Grove, Meadow, Snowfield, and Ocean Waves — now let you recolor every part of the scene, and each color swatch is labeled with what it paints (buildings, windows, moon, and so on).
The Desert Dunes, Night Skyline, Aurora, and Bamboo Grove effects got a big glow-up — a hazy desert sun over lit dune crests, a cratered moon over three depths of city with blinking antenna beacons, shimmering aurora curtains, and segmented bamboo with leaf fans in a soft shaft of light.
The shuriken background effect got a glow-up — six-point steel stars with a real open hub now spin lazily across the screen from every direction, joined by tumbling kunai daggers.
Picking your country in settings is much tidier — the long wall of country buttons is now the same compact, searchable dropdown you see when signing up.

Two themes are better than one

New

Your profile can now wear its own theme! Pick a separate look for your profile page in Settings → Appearance — you'll browse the app in your favorite theme while your profile shows off a different one to you and your visitors.
App updates now live right inside your notifications — flip the new tab in the bell menu or on the Notifications page to catch up on what's changed without leaving where you are.
Movie and show pages now elegantly fade into colors drawn from each poster — on for everyone by default, and you can turn it off anytime in Settings → Appearance or the theme picker.

Improved

Theme pickers everywhere got a compact makeover — neat little swatch cards with each theme's colors, so you can see far more themes at once without scrolling.
Saving your settings is easier now — whenever you have unsaved changes on the Settings page, a save bubble floats in the corner so you never have to hunt for the save button.

Fixed

A few themes (Euphoria, House, Hei, Sunset, Forest) were being treated as the wrong brightness in places like dialogs and form controls — every theme now gets the right light or dark treatment.

And twelve more background effects on top of those — drifting star constellations, snowflakes, balloons, music notes, a swirling vortex, butterflies, smoke, gold coins, ghosts, matrix rain, electric sparks, and rippling water rings — for two dozen in all.
Plus six more for good measure — flapping bats, a lightning storm, retro Atari invaders, a drifting starfield, floating ASCII, and bursting fireworks — thirty background effects in all.
And a final flourish of atmospheric effects — manga speed lines, falling sakura, spinning shuriken, a darting school of fish, drifting jellyfish, and glowing sky lanterns — bringing it to thirty-six background effects.
And six more crafted with care — cute tumbling bows, drifting clouds, busy bees, gliding sea turtles, swimming koi, and kites dancing in the wind — forty-two background effects in all.

Dropdowns and menus inside a pop-up window now appear on top of it — before, they could hide behind the window, so tapping an option sometimes closed it by accident.
