A beauty shop owner attends a Christmas murder mystery party that turns real and teams up with her detective boyfriend to solve the case.

A powerful story about ambition, resilience, and the devastating impact of gun violence. It follows a young man striving to build a better future for himself, a teen influencer chasing musical stardom with raw talent and big dreams, and a security guard determined to earn his place on the police force. But their aspirations collide with harsh realities when a single act of violence sends shockwaves through their lives, forcing them to confront the true cost of their environment and the choices they make.

Jean is the provider and (over)protector of her two teen children, Tamika and Tristin, and begrudgingly lives with her mother in a crowded Lawrence Heights apartment complex. Despite the kids learning to become more self-sufficient, Jean’s vision is too clouded by the past to see that they're growing. She is haunted by violence in both their past and their present, and must help her children cope. Expertly using sound and flashbacks to construct a layered and full portrait of this woman's life, Chapman reveals the trials and tribulations that women in Jean’s family carry with them.

Katie Arneson is faking cancer. A university dance major, Katie's falsified diagnosis and counterfeit fundraising have transformed her into a campus celebrity surrounded by the supportive community she's always dreamed of. But now dependent on a bursary for sick students to maintain her ruse, Katie learns the funding is in jeopardy unless she can provide copies of her medical records within the week.

Fabricating credentials to score a last-ditch job as a high school guidance counsellor, a boozing, drug-addled former child star becomes an improbable hit with his students by dispensing the worst advice possible, in this hilarious reprobate comedy from writer-director-star Pat Mills.
