At the age of 40, Georgette is a cleaning lady in airplanes. One day on a game show she wins a trip to Reunion Island. But, the problem is that Georgette has never taken a plane, and has an absolute phobia of flying.

Leaud portrays a Parisian publisher of romance novels who hits on the gimmick of having his live-in girlfriend (carrot-top cutie Helene Lapiower) pose as author Rosine de Beaumont for book jacket and autograph signings. She's an immediate hit but rebels against being exploited, and throws Leaud out of their apartment. Complications occur when she meets a nerd (Rufus) claiming to be the book's author, leading to discovery of the real author (Thierry Fortineau), a bookseller who"s so happy to be in print at last that he's not to miffed at the deception. Climax shot at Charles de Gaulle Airport neatly weaves plot threads together for a blissfully happy ending.

Jeanne has been divorced for seven years now and her life is centered around Sarah, her fifteen year-old daughter. They appear to have a perfectly harmonious life together, a relationship based on deep mutual understanding and trust. So when Sarah needs a contraceptive, it's her mother who goes alone to the drugstore with her. However, under this idyllic surface there are tensions at work. Jeanne's on and off affair with Pierre does not save her from feeling lonely, and Sarah is bored by school. Both of them dream of an independent life, though neither will admit it.
