Noah, who grew up believing he’s Gaddafi’s secret son, is now a treasure hunter obsessed with finding the Libyan leader’s lost gold, scattered across the Sahel after his death. To reach it, he teams up with Zoulika—formerly Louise—an endearing, unpredictable firebrand freshly out of civic reintegration camp. Their cover: joining forces with Ryan, a 52-year-old conservative, visually impaired late bloomer determined to run the legendary Marathon des Sables. Noah wants his father’s gold, Zoulika wants to slip across the border, and Ryan wants to fulfill a childhood dream. Off they go, heading straight into the Sahel.

Émilie lives in a world of surveillance: her camgirl work; the camera phone lingering on a crush from afar; the headset affording her a drone’s perspective. The same drone that stalks each move she makes, offering inspiration, noting rivals. An unsolicited companion is conspiring with or against her. A financially strapped transplant now living in the Paris suburbs, Émilie is thrust into a high-powered world when she is chosen for a renovation workshop with a prestigious architect. Her classmates come mostly from “filthy rich” backgrounds, like cocky Olivier, who wants Émilie as his conquest. But Émilie has shy eyes only for self-sufficient Mina, whose music builds like a “helicoid.” A drone—unlike any known model—is watching her all along waiting for her next move and paying handily for the privilege.

A serial killer, nicknamed Le Ver(s) Solitaire (The Lone Worm) for the alexandrines left at the crime scenes, is spreading terror. Under the orders of a commissioner, Clarisse Sterling, a rookie in the crime squad, can only rely on her instinct, 200g of chouquettes and the virtues of a well-placed pineapple to solve this investigation and save her skin.

It’s a big day for Joseph, his family is taking him on a trip to the Smile-Rite® toy factory, it’s his tenth birthday. And everybody knows that when you turn ten, that’s when you become a man…

Three "meetings." Two men. A rumbling volcano.
