Matthew Smith (born January 3) is a British assistant art director. Born in Littlehampton, Sussex, England, he began his career in the art department in the late 2000s, contributing as an art department assistant on the TV series You Have Been Watching (2009) and the short film Shed Convention (2009), where he also worked as a production manager. Over the following years, he served as a junior draughtsman on Men in Black: International (2019) and as a draughtsperson on Black Widow (2021). His credits also include Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023), and Heart of Stone (2023), where he contributed as a draughtsman or assistant art director. He has also worked on family-oriented films such as Paddington in Peru (2024) and Christopher Robin (2018). In addition to feature films, Smith has contributed to television productions, including The Indian Doctor (2010–2012) and The Hollow Crown (2012), in assistant or graphic design roles. He is also an assistant art director on Project Hail Mary (2026) and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026).
