The Utmost Greatness is a Hong Kong Comedy starring Kent Cheng.

After his father's brutal murder, Ton Tin-Kuo sets out to seek the killer. He is befriended by evil casino owner Don Yee, who actually sets Tong up to fight his bitter enemy Pau Tze-Pin, but Pau reveals the truth of Don Yee's tricks to Tong and later makes firm their alliance by rescuing him from prison and explaining that Don Yee is his father's murderer. When his sister is also killed by Don Yee, Tong thirsts for revenge!

It starts out in rip roaring fashion, with our heroine (genre veteran Chiao Chiao) watching an out of control man rip the bodice from a struggling farm girl. Incensed by this brutality and no doubt offended by the film's one and only topless scene, she rams her fist through a brick wall and kills the man with her distinctive 'dragon blow'. Enter the film's male hero, her brother, who scolds his sister for using this deadly and forbidden weapon. The story then commences in earnest, as brother and sister end up protecting a poor orphan girl who has a valuable jade necklace that a nefarious criminal syndicate is desperate to obtain. Much mayhem ensues, though the film remains chaste and relatively bloodless after its promising beginning.

Jia threatens to kill Pei, and Li finally yields but requests to see Pei for the last time. During their short conversation Li tries to persuade Pei to leave, but he insists that he will not leave without her. Li tells him that she has promised to be Jia’s concubine. Pei has to depart, angry and disappointed. Later, Li tries to kill Jia with his sword before their wedding but she is stabbed to death instead. Li's ghost then returns to avenge Jia and his men by burning them until only ashes remain.

The misadventures of a beautiful but bored housewife Wang Yui-chuan and her chauvinistic salary-man husband Chang Wei-min reaches madcap proportions upon his denying her the opportunity to work outside the home. With calculating smarts, Wang takes action with the help of her scheming neighbors Lily and her mother Mrs. Hsu to change her identity and land a situation in her husband's firm where she successfully advances within the ranks in direct competition with Chang for promotion. This is an adaptation of the folk story, “Jin Yu Nu beats her heartless groom with a cane”. Jin Yu Nu, a beggar’s daughter, is a beautiful and kind girl. On a snowy day she saves the life of a poor scholar, Mo Ji. When Mo recovers, he marries Jin with love and gratitude. Mo wins the third place in the imperial examinations, but now he is looked down upon because his wife is a beggar's daughter. Extremely embarrassed and ashamed, Mo wants to divorce but has no excuse. Jin then jumps into the river and Mo has deep regrets but it is too late. Later, Mo’s senior Ambassador Lin appreciates his talents and wants to marry him his daughter. On the wedding night, the bride orders Mo to kneel in her room and beats him hard with a cane. Not until then does Mo know his bride is actually Jin, who has been saved by Lin. At the end, Lin knows Jin still loves Mo and helps the couple reunite.

Li Meixin rejects Du Ziping's marriage proposal on the eve of Du's departure to further his studies in Japan. Li joins a travelling troupe under Jin Shiming and becomes a success overnight. While performing in Singapore, Li discovers she is pregnant. For the sake of Li and the unborn child, Jin marries Li. Due to financial losses, Jin's troupe is disbanded. Du returns from Japan and is invited to play the male lead opposite Li in a new troupe. Caught in a dilemma, Li dies in a fall while running away from Du.

Leung Sing-por and Liu Enjia reunite with director Wong Tin-lam as they carry their inter-cultural feud to the dining table in this foodie comedy. This time, the two plump stars play owners of competing restaurants—Cantonese cuisine in one and Northern cuisine in the other, of course—whose rivalry heats up when their respective children decide to get married. While the script by Eileen Chang cleverly uses the two regions' foods to bring out clash of cultures, the film's title already says that it is ultimately a heartwarming film about two decent men who must put petty arguments aside for their children's happiness.
