Police Cadet '84 was a TV series which included such stars in TVB as Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, and notably, Carina Lau. The story centered on a couple of young "cadets" in the Police Cadet School. Tragedy, romance, conflicts, and intrigues were featured. The series was immediately followed by a sequels titled "New Police Cadet '85" and "New Police Cadet '88". Both sequels stars Tony Leung.

The Seasons was a 389 episode drama series that was shown during Enjoy Yourself Tonight on Hong Kong TV station TVB from 1987 to 1988. The show, being a section of the main program, Enjoy Yourself Tonight, meant that it was only 15 minutes long, a rarity in Hong Kong television drama programs. Another rarity is that each episode ends in the same shot: a flower being tossed into the water.

After the death of his fiancee (Pauline Yeung), triad legend Ming Tin (Alex Man) washes his hands of the underworld, retreating to a quiet life running a small mahjong parlor. Set in 1930s Guangdong, when the gambling industry was in full bloom. One of the greatest gamblers in all of Southern China is Law Sei Hoi, who is dubbed as "Divine Eyes of the South" due to his keen eyesight, which he has used to win a great number of games. Looking Back in Anger was a 1989 Hong Kong TV series and one of the most watched TVB series by Chinese people in Hong Kong and around the world. Many factors contributed to the success of this series. As well as its tragic but memorable storyline, this series featured a strong cast, with Felix Wong, Deric Wan, Carina Lau, Kathy Chow Hoi-Mei and Maggie Shiu. The popular theme song of the series "Yat sang ho kau" was sung by Danny Chan and later by Deric Wan himself.

The series follows Fang Jinchang, who was born into a poor family. Through hard work and diligence, he becomes a police inspector and is about to marry his fiancée, Xie Yueming. However, he has a despicable and malicious biological younger brother named Zhong Weishun. Zhong Weishun was separated from Fang Jinchang in their childhood and was adopted by a wealthy stepfather. For personal gain, Zhong Weishun harms his biological father and, leveraging his family's influence, causes Fang Jinchang to be dismissed from his job and his engagement to be broken off. Later, with the help of Song Chuqiao, Fang Jinchang seeks revenge against his own brother.

The New Adventures of Chor Lau-heung is a Hong Kong television series adapted from Chu Liuxiang Xinzhuan of Gu Long's Chu Liuxiang novel series. It was rerun in Hong Kong on TVB Jade from February 1 to March 30 in 2006.
