The show remains one of the longest running children's cartoon series in the world. It is most commonly referred to as "Blue Cat". An English version was made for the first episode titled "The Adventures of the Blue Cat" and was made as a pilot for a series titled "Lucky's Adventures" but due to lack of intrerests, the series was canceled. Super Why! or The Reading Adventures of Super Why! is a CGI animated show developed by Angela C. Santomero and Samantha Freeman Alpert. The TV series is produced by New York City-based Out of the Blue Enterprises and Toronto-based DHX Media through its Decode Entertainment division. The show debuted on PBS stations on September 3, 2007. The series airs on PBS Kids and PBS Kids Sprout in the USA, Kids' CBC in Canada. Thai PBS from Thailand broadcasts the shortened version, the episodes are 5 years behind the U.S.

The series follows the adventures of a curious 8-year-old girl named Tee Zeng who always dreamed of going on adventures and exploring wonderful places, and then one day she finds an odd-looking sock in her mother’s laundry that…. Talks. He was originally a Kung Fu Master from another world charged with guarding an ancient scroll. When Master Kicko came through a vortex into Tee Zeng’s time, his powers were weakened, and he was transformed into a sock. However, when the little girl puts the sock on her foot she transforms into a super heroine – a kick-ass Kung Fu Girl, and together they must complete Kung Fu Sock’s mission and follow the ancient scroll to defeat evil and protect their world.

The show focuses on high schools that hold yo-yo contests. The schools organize teams and participate in competitions to win against other schools. Each team has their own issues that they solve, and each yo-yo has a name that reflects the toy's design. The show makes use of minor special effects in order to portray the "magic" and the speed of the yo-yo. These magic spells are 'battling' and the person whose magic remains wins. Some of the yo-yo tricks are common, like the Forward Pass, Loop-the-Loop, Three-Leaf-Clover, Trapeze, Double or Nothing, Gravity Pull, etc. The show also has some tricks of its own created by the producers (most of the tricks are for professionals) like the White Buddha, Buddha's Revenge and the Cold Fusion (hardest trick of Season One).
